Gunman Arrested After Pursuit in Sylmar

Police arrested a man who allegedly shot at officers in Sylmar after a brief car pursuit Sunday.

The chase began when officers attempted to stop the driver, who was wanted for criminal threats, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.

The chase ended at Sayre Street and Bradley Avenue, where the driver allegedly opened fire.

No officers were injured. LAPD officials said officers did not return fire.

After searching the neighborhood, police arrested the man at his house several blocks away.

The man, identified only as being in his 30s, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
